INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE

Week 63
Monday, August 28, 2017

Hello Friends and Family,
I hope you all has a great week, This week was absolutely dope!

So the highlight of this week was the stake baptism, There were 35 people baptized.  It was such an incredible experience and one I'll never forget.  I was also able to see members from Jaro and Dumangas (two of my previous areas). It was a great reunion and so much fun!

So this week was probably the busiest week of my mission.   I have never been so tired in my life, but it was so amazing. Every day Elder McAllister and I have been teaching like 8ish lessons, We have sooo many instigators who all seem to be progressing and who want to hear more.  Let me tell you about a few of them: First is "J". We teach her every day, she knows our message is true and she wants to be baptized. Next is "E"... I had  one of the best lessons in my life with her last night that resulted in her knowing our message is true, both of us crying, and her wanting to baptized. I love her so much.  She is so great!   We have so many more investigators...these are just a couple of them.  Missionary work is great!

Passi is so lit. I love this place so much, and I love Elder McAllister so much too. The work has been so good with us as companions. I have learned so much and we are just killing it here #Kozzy style. (Kano/Ozzy) This week we worked so hard...one night we came home and  I was SO tired that I was like... "Elder I, I, I, I, I, need to go to bed."  it was so bad!  I was so tired i couldn't even talk. haha   The work here is so amazing and I couldn't be happier!  I  love Passi, I love my life, and Plangga ta kamo.

"I COULDN"T BE HAPPIER!"

Week 62
Monday, August 21, 2017

What is up friends and Fam?
I have to say this week was probably the best week of my mission.

Last Tuesday I was transferred.  I am now in Passi...it was about an hour and a half ceres or bus ride to get here.   When I arrived in Passi, I met up with my mate, Elder McAllister. We then headed home, dropped off my bags and headed to Mang Inasal.  Mang Inasal is a delicious restaurant here... I'll send pics.  After we ate, we bought a few things, I unpacked and we got to work. We will be having two baptisms on Saturday... part of the Stake Baptism.  It's going to be amazing, and a lot of fun.

So. let's just say this week we worked SO hard...as in we killed it!  We really have been killing it here,  we have been teaching  8-10 lessons every day, and we have really found a groove. We teach all of our progressing investigators every day, and this week we had some of our new investigators come to church. We have been so happy together, and are just loving life...getting ready to baptize everyone we see!  haha.

This area is way dope too! It's like city and boukid, or not city. We have some really nice chain restaurants, and we have areas where it's much more rural.  It's so cool. There is also a ward here, which is always nice.

The house is also really great too.  We are anxious to get back to it today since we will have time to really clean it...we want to make sure there's nothing holding us back from the work.

Let's just say life is the best right now, and I couldn't be happier!

Plangga ta kamo, have a great week!

Love,
Elder Andersen

TRANSFERS

Hello Friends and Family,
I hope you all had a good week!

The biggest news of the week is that I will be transferring tomorrow!!! Wow time went by fast here is the city of Jaro.  I will be going to Passi which is actually pretty close! The thing I'm most excited for is my new companion will be Elder McCallister.  Elder McCallister and I are actually pretty tight. He's from Australia.  We were together in Guimaras, and we transferred to North Zone together.  So I'm still in north zone, just a different area. I'm going back to what is called a boukid area, which means, not  a city. I guess I'll be doing a lot of walking, which means that I'll probably lose weight again.

This week was good though. The area is progressing really right now. Our investigators are so dope and there are going to be a lot of baptisms here really soon.  This makes me sad to leave, but it'll be alright.   I'm excited for a dope FHE (Family Home Evening) tonight.  We hung out as a District for the last time today, and now I'm getting ready to transfer.

Have a great week, Plangga ko kamo

THE GIFT OF THE BOOK OF MORMON

Week 60
August 7, 2017

Hello Friends and Family,
I hope you all had a great week this week!

This week was sooooo great and a lot of fun. This past Monday night we got a call from our Bishop saying that there was a graduation at the church and we needed 60 Books of Mormon to give out to the graduates as a part of their graduation.  The church in Jaro is used for a drug rehabilitation program. So, we made some calls and on Tuesday we had the whole District there and we gave out 107 Books of Mormon. It was a lot of fun and a great finding opportunity.  That night Elder Steiner and I went on exchanges. It was a lo of fun and we worked hard too. The rest of the week was a pretty normal week.

The Investigators:

This week we contacted a former investigator, her name is "N". She's dope. We decided to test something out...we went and taught her every day... and she came to church!   it was so amazing.  She is so happy and looking forward to her baptism on September 9th.

We actually moved "A's" baptism to August 26th. We decided to move it because there is a stake baptism on the 26th and about 50 or 60 people will be baptized.  We would really like as many people at the baptism as possible.

"R" Sr. is doing great and he is going to be interviewed pretty soon. He is also really looking forward to his baptism!  We also had two long term investigators come to church this week too! They loved church and had originally planned to stay for just one hour, but stayed for the whole time!! They are now really considering baptism!

This week was honestly so great!  We worked hard and we had so much fun.  Another great thing that happened was with our investigators, the Fuertes family. Sister Kay is the lady who made us all that food a few weeks ago. . They took us out to dinner... it was amazing!  They are soooo nice...I love them so much!

This morning was also great!!  We had a district activity and played Avalon for awhile and then we went bowling.  It was a lot of fun!

Well that is about all I have this week, I love you all.

WORKING HARD

Week 59
Monday, July 31, 2017

Hello Friends and Family,
How are you all doing? This week was great!

So, the big news this week is that Tay "A" will be baptized on Saturday!!! He passed his interview and is super excited for his baptism!

This week nothing too crazy happened… except for rain... 2 hurricanes hit the Pinas this week.  It wasn’t strong here, but it was in Luzon. The rain here however, was still crazy!  It rained so hard. One day we walked outside to work and it was sunny and hot, ten minutes later were caught in a torrential downpour haha.  It has been fun though, just another fun part of the Philippines!!!

This week has been great.  We have been finding a lot.  We found some really good investigators, and they are from Dumangas!!!!! Sooo cool! They are the "M" family.  We have only been able to teach them once, but they are cool and they live super close to some members which is such a great thing.

Some more exciting news is that "R" Sr. is now officially preparing for his baptism.  He solved his Word of Wisdom problems, and he is going to church every Sunday. He is so awesome and he is such a great person. This gospel has changed his life so much!

Today’s Preparation Day was also very fun. This morning we had a zone activity. It was great seeing friends and playing some games. I really enjoyed being around all the other missionaries. We played sports and some other games. Afterwards, our district played this game called “Avalon.” It is soooo fun.  It’s kind of like like a game called warewolf.  A member here in Iloilo makes the game...I will be excited to play and introduce it to all of you when I get home!!

I'm sorry this email is short, but that's about all I have for this week.
