TOGETHER FOR SIX MORE

Week 67
Monday, September 25, 2017

Hello Friends and Family,
I hope you all had a great week.  We are killing it here in Passi!

So this week was another wonderful week. Elder McAllister and I are doing so well here in this area. There's not a ton of new stuff that happened this week, because everything happening with our investigators is still the same. They're almost all progressing and they are doing so well. This biggest news of the week is that neither of us will be transferring this week!!!   Elder McAllister and I will be together for another 6 weeks!!!

Yesterday at church was such a good day! We didn't have a ton of investigators, but we had a ton of less active members come to church. It was so amazing that after church, the Bishop came up to us and gratefully thanked us for our work here in Passi. He is so happy with how hard we have been working and he can really see how much we care for this area and how much we're helping it.

That is really all I have for this week, sorry there's not too much to report on, but the work here is great...all of our investigators are doing so well, and I love it here!

FORGETTING ENGLISH

Week 66
Monday, September 18, 2017

Hello Fam and Friends,
I hope you all have had a great week, We are absolutely killing it here in Passi.

This week has been absolutely great, I have a funny story from this week

So we were "OYM"ing (Open Your Mouth) the people who live in our sub-division. We came across this one lady who was super dope. We were talking to her and it turned out that she didn't know Ilonggo, but she knew English. Greek, and Tagalog. I thought it was so cool that she knew Greek...I explained that one of my best friends growing up was Greek.  I told her a word that his dad used to call me, and she busted up laughing...UMMM...THANKS A LOT, LARRY!   We taught her in English...this was only the second time I had taught a lesson in English in the last almost year and a half. Let's just say it was extremely hard and I felt really dumb. I forgot words, I was speaking English, Tagalog, and Basta... it was a mess!  It's gonna be rough when I go home!

Other than that, We had a very solid week. "M" was baptized along with two other people from Calinog.  We had a District Baptism. It was a great experience, "E" came and she loved it. She even made food for the baptism... she is so dope.  "E" is still progressing well and this week we finally were able to teach her husband! The lesson was good and we're going try to teach him some more this week.  This week we also had a lot of success with less active members. We were able to have three less active members at church who haven't been to church in a long time. One of those being "C", "K", and "M"'s mom. It was amazing, and she was so happy to be there.  She also gave us another referral, her son. They have a huge family...she is the mother of 12!!!   AND we are determined to get all them to church. The work here in Passi is so unreal, I can't even explain it. We have so many lessons every day, we rarely have time to find new investigators.

I love this work so much. I truly KNOW that this church is true.   It has changed my life and I am seeing it change the lives of others right now. I hope you all have a great week!

TOP NOTCH DAY

Week 65
Monday, September 11, 2017

Hello Friends and Family,
I hope you all had a great week, because I sure did!

The big news of the week was our Mission Tour which was honestly one of the best days of my life.  We went down to La Paz... part of my last district.  When we got there, I saw a bunch of my friends...it so much fun.  Then, we had our Mission Tour.   Sister Cruz, President Cruz, Sister Schumutz, and Elder Schmutz all spoke, it was amazing.  My favorite was Elder Schmutz, he trained us for about four or five hours. My favorite part  of his training was how well he understands the scriptures...so unreal. So many new things opened up in my mind. His stories from his mission were also great. I loved it.

The second biggest highlight of the week was yesterday.  Yesterday was our Stake Conference,  I was able to see all my members from Dumangas and Jaro...it was so unreal. It was so much fun to see all of them and to find out how well they are all doing. I really can't wait to go back there after the mission and see these people again that I have grown to love so much.  Let's just say it was absolutely amazing. The choir at the Iloilo Stake was also so amazing.   I give them my props, at one point I felt like I was listening to MOTAB.  I'd have to say that this week was lit.

The work here in Passi is also great, it is really progressing.  The big news of the week is that we really started focusing our work in a different place.  We have been working in this place called JML.  "E" lives in JML, and so do "C" and "K" . The work there is amazing.  We have a ton of progressing investigators and they are all looking super great.  "E" is still our most progressing investigator though. We will also be having a baptism this Saturday. The baptism we will be having is for "M"...he's the younger brother of "C"and "K". MAN, I LOVE BAPTISMS!

Have a great week!

AMAZING INVESTIGATOR

Week 64
Monday, September 4, 2017

What is up Friends and Family? I hope you all had a great week this week.

So this week was another great week...maybe not quite as good as last week, but still good...and we learned a lot this week!

The biggest highlight of the week is how much "E" is progressing.  I have never had an investigator like her...she reads all her assignments, she understands everything, and she explains what we are teaching her better than we can explain it...haha. She is so great!  We have been really trying to teach her husband, but he hasn't seemed too interested. However, when we taught "E" the Plan of Salvation this week and about the Celestial Kingdom, she said,
"Wait...we can't be an eternal family unless he is baptized too?"  Now, she has really been trying to get her husband to listen to us too.  She has also started having family prayer every night.  She is so great!
Our other investigators are doing pretty well, too.   We have still been super busy every night starting at about 4 o'clock, we have been completely booked with appointments.  It is insane, but so awesome... I love it so much!

This week had the fun opportunity to do a CSP (community service project) with a bunch of our investigators.  We basically just went to their work and helped. It was fun, we did my favorite thing ever... weeding... NOT!  I really enjoyed being able to help out and do service though.  The weeding made me not miss home... in a way... haha.  It was fun talking to our investigators co-workers.  They were so impressed that we knew Ilonggo. It is pretty funny how impressed people are when they find out we can speak their language... haha.

This Week:
This week is gonna be a lot of fun too! On Thursday, we have our mission tour.  Elder Schmutz will be coming and doing a training for us. I am super excited and can't wait...it'll be an amazing experience, I'm sure!   Then, Sunday is our Stake Conference. It will be so good to see all the members from Dumangas, and Jaro. I am looking forward to that too!

That is about all I have for this week, I love you all so much.
